Oxford and Cambridge Society of India (OCSI) Scholarships in UK, 2016-2017

Oxford and Cambridge Society of India (OCSI) is offering scholarships for Indian students for the academic year 2016-2017. Scholarships are available for undergraduate, second undergraduate, graduate study and research in any subject available at the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford, UK.
The university’s aim is to examine the impact of the division between further and higher education on strategies to widen participation in undergraduate education.
The Oxford and Cambridge Society of India (OCSI) is a not-for-profit alumni organisation based in New Delhi, India. The scholarships offered by OCSI are Equal Opportunity, i.e. the decisions made in awarding these scholarships are not based on race, colour, religion, disability, age (except for maximum age criterion), sex or ancestry. Relatives of the Executive Committee of the Oxford and Cambridge Society of India are not eligible for consideration for these scholarships.
Applicant must have certificate of English proficiency test – IELTS/TOEFL/PTE Test/Others.
Course Level: The levels of study would include the following:
-Research leading to the PhD degree.
-One-year postgraduate courses (e.g. MPhil, LLM, BCL, Diploma, CASM or Part III Maths, MBA, PGCE etc).
-Taught and research based Masters programmes of various durations (including M.Sc., engineering, medicine).
-Second Bachelors degree as an Affiliated Student/Senior Status.
-Bachelors degree programme
Study Subject(s): Scholarships are available for any subject/course/field of study available at the two universities (some scholarships may be limited to specific courses or fields of study).
Scholarship Award:-OCSI scholarship(s) worth INR 400,000 (Rupees Four Lacs only) tenable at either the University of Cambridge or the University of Oxford
-One scholarship worth INR 100,000 (Rupees One Lac only) tenable only at Emmanuel College, University of Cambridge
-One scholarship worth INR 100,000 (Rupees One Lac only) tenable only at St. Hilda’s College, University of Oxford
Scholarship can be taken at: UK
Eligibility:
-Must be a citizen of India
-Must be ordinarily resident in India
-Must be not more than 30 years of age on 1 September of the year of application for the award
-Must be a graduate of an Indian university (applicants who are expected to graduate in the year of the award are also eligible to apply for the awards)
-Must have applied for and secured admission to study a full-time course at the University of Cambridge or the University of Oxford. Candidates are required to present proof of admission before grant of the scholarship, and proof of having taking up residence at Cambridge or Oxford before the scholarships funds would be released.
-Must intend to pursue a course of study that is one of the following: o Research leading to the PhD degree o One-year post-graduate courses (e.g. MPhil, LLM, Diploma, CASM or Part III Maths, MBA, PGCE etc.), Taught and research based masters programmes of various durations (including M. Sc., engineering, medicine) o Second Bachelors degree as an Affiliated Student/Senior Status o Bachelors degree programme
-Must be admitted to the University of Cambridge or the University of Oxford through the University’s normal academic procedures. OCSI cannot admit students or assist in this process.
Nationality: Indian students can apply for these scholarships.
College Admission Requirement
Entrance Requirements:
English Requirements: For Oxford University:-
-IELTS: overall score of 7.0 (with at least 7.0 in each of the four components)
-TOEFL (paper-based): overall score of 600 with a Test of Written English score of 5.5
-TOEFL (internet-based): overall score of 110 with component scores of at least: Listening 22, Reading 24, Speaking 25, and Writing 24.
-Cambridge English: Advanced, also known as the Certificate of Advanced English (CAE): grade A if taken before January 2015, or a score of at least 200.
-Cambridge English: Proficiency, also known as the Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): grade B if taken before January 2015, or a score of at least 213.
-English Language GCSE, or O-level: grade B
-International Baccalaureate Standard Level (SL): score of 5 in English (as Language A or B)
-European Baccalaureate: score of 70% in English.
For Cambridge University:-
-IELTS – normally a minimum overall grade of 7.5, usually with 7.0 or above in each element
-EU students – a high grade in English taken as part of a leaving examination (eg the European/French Baccalaureate, Abitur etc) may be acceptable
-Cambridge English: Advanced – grade A or B
-Cambridge English: Proficiency – grade A, B or C
-Singapore Integrated Programme (SIP) – may be considered an acceptable English language qualification
